So what, it’s just a name, right?
It’s impossible to imagine an organizational world without names, the titles of our jobs define us. They say so much about who we are, our organizational culture, the division of labour and the hierarchies we inhabit. So what does your name, the title you have in your organization, say about you and your job? More importantly what do those names tell the people you serve?

There is the old axiom about things happening in threes and a recent experience with this has made me contemplate how we view and promote our profession of fundraising.
First, I heard Archbishop Desmond Tutu speak at the AFP International Conference in Baltimore where he told 3,000 plus fundraisers that we have ‘a noble calling’. And that through our work children around the world are fed, human rights are fought for and supported, sick people are taken care of and children are educated.
